If there is one claim that has perpetuated through my many years in online business, it’s the “make money while you sleep” claim. It’s true that I make money while I sleep, but it didn’t happen overnight (so to speak) and I still work hard for that money.
Unless you have a large staff and contracting budget, you’re going to have to do a lot of work yourself when you start an Internet business in Canada. From the business basics to online marketing, the time invested in lieu of monetary investment places a great demand on the Internet entrepreneur. You’re also going to spend an exorbitant amount of time learning, even if you have some experience.
I don’t regret a single minute. The skills I learned along the way serve me well in my endeavors and in my career. Being a bit of a workaholic and a perpetual learner by nature didn’t hurt. Besides being economical, I get to do everything just how I want it done and I don’t have to wait for someone else to do it.
If you’re looking into online business because you think it’s easy, this isn’t the business for you. If you love it enough to work hard at it, at least in the beginning, you will eventually make money while you sleep.

WORD! The amount of work didn’t surprise me exactly but I don’t think I considered it seriously either.
Great poster! I get more sleep than I used to but I still work at least 10 hours a day.
If you tell people you’re self-employed they picture a life of doing whatever you want whenever you want. It’s hard work to be responsible for your own income.
It’s work but if you choose the right business it won’t feel as much like work. It’s not for the lazy I agree.
