When Canadian entrepreneurs go looking for information or inspiration on YouTube, most of what they find has been produced in other countries. When they do find Canadian content on the network, it’s often severely limited or outdated.
Whenever I find quality Canadian business content on YouTube, I follow the account so I don’t lose track of it. That has resulted in quite a large collection, the best of which I’ve shared with you here.
Top Canadian YouTube Creators for Small Businesses to Follow
BNN Bloomberg is Canada’s only television service devoted exclusively to business and finance news, with wall-to-wall coverage of the markets. Their YouTube channel is very active with frequent new content.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce covers a wide variety of Canadian business sectors and topics.
Smith School of Business at Queen’s University is one of the world’s premier business schools. Besides program information, they cover current business affairs and offer guidance to entrepreneurs and leaders in Canada.
The BDC YouTube channel has a number of short videos to help Canadians succeed in business. Many videos are available in both English and French.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is dedicated to increasing business owners’ chances of success. Their videos cover everything from news to lobbying, in both English and French.
The Financial Post covers so much more than financial topics, including Canadian business news, analysis and commentary.
Futurpreneur Canada is a national organization providing start-up mentoring, financing and business resources to help you start your own successful business in Canada. They target young, aspiring entrepreneurs (youthpreneurs) age 18-39. Their videos cover news and guidance in English and French.
StartUp Canada brings you video content covering everything from funding and pitches, to insights and featured leaders.
TurboTax Canada offers how-to videos and useful tax information for small businesses or self-employed Canadians.
The Executive Committee (TEC) Deeper Insights Webinar Series and The Leadership Standard Podcast provide valuable tips and insights for Canadian business leaders.
The Canadian Management Centre takes leaders through informative webinars about management, current events, mindset and more.
Export Development Canada has a helpful selection of videos for Canadian businesses that export on any scale. Learn about trade, markets, solutions, success stories and more in English or French.
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) covers much more than domain name info. Canadian online business success stories, discussion panels, cyber security and digital issues are all touched upon in their videos.
Canada’s Podcast interviews entrepreneurs and business leaders in Canada. They share the video footage of their podcast on YouTube.
Toronto Starts has tons of startup information that’s applicable to all Canadian entrepreneurs, as well as local content.
