Canadians Give Bloggers 3.2/5 on the Trust Scale

A 2015 Ipsos / Readers Digest poll surveyed Canadians about the most trusted professions.  Canadians gave bloggers 3.2 out of 5 on the trust scale.  Traditional journalists were given 4.2.

The fact that none of us should trust everything we read online almost certainly impacted this number.  If Canadians were asked how much they trust their favourite bloggers, the number would be significantly higher.  When these influential bloggers speak, we listen like they’re a trusted friend.

It’s for that very reason that it is now a common practice for brands and businesses to work with bloggers (known as blogger outreach).  It can be tough to find Canadian bloggers, however, which has made it more difficult for those wanting to reach this country’s consumers through them.  We published a collection of PR3+ bloggers based in Canada to help marketers reach shoppers here.

We also have marketing strategy ideas for you in our post, Reaching Canadian Consumers Through Niche Bloggers.  Possibilities include product reviews, blog contest sponsorship, guest posts, press releases, interviews, banner advertising, and affiliate programs.

I agree, more trust for favourite bloggers. Some are very serious about not compromising their integrity. They still make money but the transparency is obvious.

We started working with bloggers a couple of years ago and the response is honestly better than anything we’ve ever done. The best part is how affordable it is!
