Google recently launched a Canadian version of its Think Insights portal for digital marketers and businesses in this country.  The concept is built around targeted market insights, organization and inspiration.  The portal compiles research, data, information, case studies, interviews, news, and tools for Canadian businesses and marketers.  The US version has been around since 2011 and was updated last year.

“We built google.ca/think to help you stay up-to-date on the latest thinking in marketing, and arm yourself with data to gain insights for your business,” states the Google Canada Blog.

The beauty of Google’s Think Insights is it allows Canadian marketers to navigate by industry, region, type of ad, or marketing objective.  For example, if we select ‘Business-to-Business’ under the Industries tab, we’re brought to a mini-portal focusing on the B2B industry. On the right (below the title), is a ‘Filter Items’ button, with which we can filter by:

  • Marketing Objective
  • Ad Type
  • Audience
  • Region
  • Type

Select one or several filters as illustrated below:

The results will be updated according to the parameters you specified.  If we start with the “Marketing Objectives” tab, we’re lead down the same path with similar filtering options.  It’s an efficient way to wade through information that could take hours to find through manual searching, if it’s found at all.

The Creative Sandbox is a fantastic idea that makes Think Insights both social and inspirational.  The searchable tool allows us to view advertising campaigns in progress, or submit our own marketing campaign ideas for input and review.  You will also have the Canadian YouTube Ads Leaderboard to inspire you with the top YouTube ads for the month.

Comment on Canadians Internet BusinessMost Canadian businesses or marketing professionals will find this new resource useful in staying current and inspired.  There’s always room for improvement though, which features would you like to see Google add to Canadian Think Insights?

If I could just remember to check it regularly I’d value it more but that will come with habit. Thanks!

I have a new start page. It’s the perfect way for this communications pro to start her day.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, the resources you bring aren’t always applicable to all Canadian business pros but this one should be handy for all.

Fantastic site (Google’s & yours). I get distracted when I go through info but if I can search and get right to it I’d save a lot of time. Thanks for sharing.
